Luton Unite

Young people and youth leaders are invited to participate in a new Luton Unite initiative from Youthscape in the coming weeks.   While it is under the Luton Unite brand young people from other churches in the Circuit are welcome too!

The goals will be to uplift young people through fun challenges and tasks with big prizes, to discuss and normalise Christian faith in today’s world, and to grow in relationship in a time where it is difficult to stay connected.  This will feature a ‘Taskmaster’-type theme, using Youtube, Instagram & IGTV, and Tik-tok accounts (all titled Luton Unite for search purposes).

There will be a main event on the first Friday of every month, beginning on 5th February, shown via Youtube and including video clips from challenges, strong faith content, and prizes.   There will also be facilities for prayer requests to be submitted.  There are likely to be smaller weekly challenges on Tik-tok & Instagram.

Youthscape would also like as many youth leaders as possible to be involved and will run an Instagram live with a different youth leader each Friday.

Date & Times are below Anyone interested please email me (dde@behdistrict.org.uk) for further details and the zoom link.

19th January 7.30pm: Worship, Learning and Caring

26th January 7.30pm: Service, Evangelism

11th February 10.00am: Worship, Learning & Caring

18th February 10.00am: Service, Evangelism

Children and Young People. Just a reminder that we have 2 sessions planned for an informal discussion about the work with children and young people across our churches. The dates for these are Friday 22nd January and Monday 25th January both at 7.30pm. Please email me (dde@behdistrict.org.uk) for the zoom details. Our work with children and young people will continue to be affected by the covid restrictions. At these sessions I am just wanting to hear your stories from your churches, whether joyful or despairing. The discipleship of our young people is as important as the older members of our churches.

Another informal discussion planned is about Pioneering Tuesday 9th February at 7.00pm - 8.30pm Over the last few months we have all had to be pioneering as the usual ways of being church have been restricted. This informal discussion will include myself and Nigel Pimlott from the Learning Network - Eastern Region. Please do email me (dde@behdistrict.org.uk) for further details.
